This claim is especially important in legal cases regarding autism, because the court has relied so heavily on peer reviewed published studies as being the ultimate authority in making rulings which deny victims of vaccine damage compensation. Some experts who have evaluated published studies for study design, validity of statistical modeling, collection and reporting of data, conflicts of interest, and truth of authorship finds as many as 90% of published studies in major journals fail to meet these standards and lack validity.
