Whistleblower Protection Fails to Protect Scientists who Conduct Science in the Pulic Interest in Canada – How does U.S. Fare?

Whistleblower protection fails with Public Service Labour Relations Board decision | National Union of Public and General Employees. Canadian scientists who raised concerns with safety of Monsanto’s rBGH were fired and not reinstated after a seven year legal battle.

How does the U.S. treat whistleblowers who come forward with information of government or corporate wrongdoing to protect the public interest? According to the National Whistleblower’s Center http://www.whistleblowers.org, attacks on scientists working at the FDA who question safety of drugs or products have resulted in firings. These illegal and unethical attempts to suppress science for the health and well being of the public in favor of protecting corporate interests have resulted in the approval of medical devices that have lead to “unnecessary risks, cancers, and even death.”  http://www.whistleblowers.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=
